- 4 servings Angel Hair Pasta (1/2 box)
- Pesto Sauce, such as Bertolli, Barilla, Classico, or simply make your own (recipe in the sauces and dressings tab).
- Salt and Pepper
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Place the dried angel hair into the Lekue Pasta Cooker.
Add water until the pasta is covered. Drizzle a few drops of oil and a pinch of salt into the Pasta Cooker.
The reason we add salt is to give the water flavor, which in turns flavors the pasta. Oil is added because it prevents the pasta from sticking together and forming clumps. Put the orange lid on top and cook in the microwave for 7 minutes at 800watts. To power down your microwave, first know the wattage, it usually located on the inside wall or on the door. Once you figure that out, enter the cooking time and then press “power level.” Afterwards enter a number 1-10 (10 will be full power.) Example: I have a 1,000watt microwave so when I power down I press 7 (cooking time), press the power level button and then 8 (for 80% power = 800watts.)
Remove the Pasta Cooker from the microwave, flip the lid, and use the lid as the strainer.
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of pesto per serving of pasta directly into the Pasta Cooker. If you wish to add more pesto, please do so! Add a pinch of pepper and stir the pasta around until every strand is coated.
Pour into a bowl or eat out of the Lekue Pasta Cooker. If you wish, you can sprinkle a little bit of parmesan cheese on top.
