Home Made Tomato Sauce

Cook Time: 3 Minutes and 30 Seconds


  • 1 full clamshell of cherry tomatoes
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Pinch of salt and pepper


In your Lekue Steam Case or Ogya, place all ingredients listed. 
Close the lids and put in the microwave. Cook for 3 minutes and 30 seconds at 800watts. To power down your microwave, you must first know the wattage. It is usually located on the inside wall or on the door. Once you figured that out, enter the cooking time and then press “power level.” Afterwards enter a number 1-10 (10 will be full power.) Example: I have a 1,000watt microwave so when I power down I press 7 (cooking time), press the power level button and then 8 (for 80% power = 800watts.)
Remove from the microwave, open the lids and you'll see the tomatoes have popped open. With a fork or potato masher, mash the tomatoes until it becomes the consistency you want. 
Enjoy on pasta, chicken, or roasted vegetables.
